Sanville Group of Care Homes is looking to recruit a resilient and practical person as a Ancillary Assistant.

Experience is not essential as full training will be given.

As part of a dedicated team you will provide a comfortable, safe and hygienic environment for residents and staff.

Domestic - Laundry Duties

Main responsibilities:

  1. Cleaning and care of all equipment.
  2. Adhere to cleaning schedule as instructed.
  3. Adhere to hygiene practices.
  4. Reporting any faults in machinery or equipment.
  5. Reporting any accidents or incidents
  6. Responsible for cleaning of all areas i.e. bedrooms, bathroom facilities, corridors, offices, inside windows, residents dining room and all fixtures and fittings.
  7. Observing hygiene practices-personal and otherwise.
  8. To attend in-service training lectures.

 

Special Job Knowledge

  1. Cross infection precautions.
  2. Care and use of equipment for cleaning.
  3. Home routine.

 

Essential Skills

  1. Ability to work as part of a team.
  2. Ability to adapt to varying circumstances and new methods.
  3. Ability to maintain a high standard of cleanliness without supervision.
  4. Ability to co-operate with staff and others in the home.

Health and Safety

  1. Take care of their own safety and others who may be affected by their actions or omissions.
  2. Adhere to Hamilton Court Care Homes Health and Safety Policies and use any equipment or personal protective equipment provided to ensure safety.
  3. Co-operative with all staff to maintain safe systems and safe workplaces.
  4. Report any accidents/incidents or ill health, failing in premises, equipment or personal protective equipment.
  5. Not interfere with any equipment provided to ensure Health and Safety.
  6. Not attempt to carry out repairs beyond their competence.

Kitchen Duties

  1. Cleaning and care of kitchen equipment.
  2. Cleaning of all crockery/cutlery.
  3. Washing and preparing of vegetables.
  4. Preparing and serving breakfast.
  5. Assisting in the service of all meals.
  6. Responsible for cleaning of resident’s dining room.
  7. Observing hygiene practices-personal and otherwise.
  8. Reporting any accidents, which may occur.
  9. To attend in-service training lectures
