Domestic & Laundry Assistant

We are looking for a dedicated and reliable Domestic & Laundry Assistant to join our friendly and professional team at Glenview Care Home, Cabragh.

This is a vital role in ensuring our residents enjoy a clean, safe, comfortable, and well-organised home environment. As part of the Support Services team, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the home while also delivering a high-quality laundry service for residents’ clothing and linens.

Experience in a care home or similar environment is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.

𝗗𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 / 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀

- Carry out daily and deep cleaning duties in line with cleaning schedules
- Ensure all areas are maintained to the highest hygiene and cleanliness standards
- Follow infection prevention and control policies at all times
- Maintain cleaning documentation in line with company policy
- Report any defects or damage to furnishings or equipment to the Housekeeper
- Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and presentation
- Actively contribute to a welcoming, warm environment for residents, visitors, and colleagues
- Engage with residents respectfully, supporting their dignity and communication needs

𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗿𝘆 𝗗𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀

- Wash, dry, iron, and return residents’ clothing and linen with care and attention
- Operate industrial laundry equipment safely and correctly
- Label clothing discreetly and appropriately
- Carry out minor clothing repairs where required
- Handle soiled linen in line with infection control procedures
- Ensure clean linen and clothing are returned promptly and in line with residents’ wishes
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe laundry environment
- Keep accurate stock records and notify the Housekeeper when supplies are low
- Liaise with the Housekeeper, care team, and relatives where clothing requires replacement or major repair
