About the Role.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, empathetic and proactive person to join our friendly team at The County Care Home in Enniskillen as an Activities and Wellbeing Co-ordinator. Activities are a huge part of life for our residents, and this is a key role within our Home. The hours will be part time, working 5 days per week from 11-16:00h with some weekend or evening work required at times.

Your role will be to bring happiness to the lives of our residents, as part of our ‘Enjoy Your Day’ initiative. With support from the home manager and the wider team, you will be responsible for planning, organising, promoting and implementing a meaningful, enjoyable, engaging and stimulating activities programme. This will be in line with the principles, policies, procedures and best practice guidelines for person-centred, clinical and dementia care. Whether it’s chair yoga, baking, gardening, music or pet therapy, we guarantee no two days will be the same.

You will also report on the effectiveness of your activities programme, regularly reviewing, revising and refreshing it for all residents accordingly.

This is a varied and rewarding role, and a fantastic opportunity to have a positive impact on the lives of our residents. It would really suit the likes of former teachers, occupational therapists or arts co-ordinator that are looking for a new, exciting challenge.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

• Collaborating with the care home team to develop a meaningful, enjoyable, engaging and stimulating
activities strategy based on person-centred care principles
• Presenting the strategy to the Operational Manager / Marketing Team on an annual and quarterly basis
• Organising, promoting and implementing the strategy
• Ensuring weekly and monthly calendars are created and distributed
• Motivating and inspiring care team members in the home to be involved and engaged in the provision of stimulating activities
• Ensuring records relating to activities are accurate and up to date
• Planning regular reviews with each resident, in partnership with the care team members
• Conducting regular reviews of all activities programmes to measure and assess effectiveness
• Ensuring key events, activities and achievements are communicated to the Marketing Department
• Building strong and positive external links within the local community
• Managing activities budgets in liaison with the Home Manager
• Assisting with some basic elements of care delivery for e.g., meals; safe moving & handling, personal grooming
• Taking part in relevant training and development opportunities.

About You.

• Proven ability to research, develop, organise and implement a varied and appropriate person-centred events/activities programme.
• Friendly, creative, and confident.
• Genuine interest in working with seniors.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Confident team player.
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Knowledge of basic computer software and an interest in social media is an advantage
