Sanville Group's €5,000 Donation

Remember that fantastic news we shared about winning a €5,000 donation from Irish Life, thanks to our incredible efforts in the Workplace Fitness Challenge on MyLife. Well, we’re thrilled to finally announce The Alzheimer Society of Ireland will be receiving this significant sum!

Team Sanville Group took part in a steps challenge a while back, where we logged a staggering 5,647,220 steps together in just three weeks equivalent to walking 2,455 miles or all the way to Canada! Any company that reached 2.5 million steps in the challenge were entered into a prize draw of winning a €5,000 donation to a Ireland-registered charity and we were absolutely overjoyed to be drawn as the winners.

After some discussion, we decided to donate the €5,000 to The Alzheimer Society of Ireland. This choice felt incredibly fitting, with many of our residents across our care home living with dementia, including in our dedicated dementia-only home, Hamilton Court and in the specialised dementia units in our other facilities.

The Alzheimer Society of Ireland provides truly vital services, information, and support to people with dementia, their families, and carers right across the country. From day care and respite services to support groups and their crucial National Helpline, they're dedicated to improving the quality of life for everyone impacted by this condition.

Being able to contribute to such a meaningful organisation is something we're proud of, and we will also continue working with and supporting Dementia NI and The Alzheimer Society of Northern Ireland.

Sharon Loane, Sanville Operations Director, who was instrumental in organising our team's participation, shared her thoughts: "This steps challenge was truly brilliant! It wasn't just about boosting our team's fitness, which it certainly did, but it also had this incredible outcome at the end. We're so proud that our collective effort has not only improved everyone's well-being but has also resulted in such a significant donation to a charity that is so close to our hearts. It’s rewarding to know we've made a tangible difference."

Kerri-Ann Warren from The Alzheimer Society of Ireland also shared what this donation means to them. She said: "We are absolutely thrilled and deeply grateful for this incredibly generous €5,000 donation from Sanville Group. Their remarkable achievement in the Irish Life steps challenge directly translates into vital support for individuals and families living with dementia across Ireland. This contribution will enable us to continue providing essential services and making a real difference in people's lives."

And a huge thank you to Irish Life for putting on such a fantastic initiative. They shared their positive thoughts too, with staff member Maria O'Neill saying: "We at Irish Life are incredibly happy with the success of this year's steps challenge and the enthusiasm shown by all participating companies. Sanville Group truly stood out with their exceptional dedication and remarkable step count. We extend our warmest congratulations to them on their outstanding achievement, and we commend their thoughtful choice of the Alzheimer Society of Ireland as their chosen charity. It's inspiring to see such commitment to both employee well-being and community support."
